Nature Masterclasses
Nature Masterclasses was developed by Nature Research (publisher of Nature and Scientific American) to equip researchers with the techniques and strategies to develop their skills, confidence, and careers. The FAS and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research have partnered with Nature Masterclasses to offer access to 24 courses with over 150 hours of on-demand learning drawing on the expertise of Nature Portfolio journal editors and experts.
Description
The Nature Masterclasses online courses are specifically designed to be used on demand and at your rhythm. They are bite-sized (10–20-minute lessons) so you can dip in and out during natural gaps in your work. Researchers can choose their own learning path – whether that is working through a course in order or dipping in and out of modules.
The courses are designed to be interactive with in-lesson activities that will keep you engaged and give you plenty of opportunities to practise using new skills and concepts.
You will learn techniques and strategies to develop your skills and confidence across a range of essential research activities. You’ll be able to apply these skills to your everyday professional life but also leverage them to develop your career.

The FAS's access to Nature Masterclasses is provided via Single Sign-On.
- Visit masterclasses.nature.com
- Go to the Registration page and select your institution
- Complete your profile and confirm email address (be sure to use the same email address if you are re-registering after the 3/30/2026 platform update)
- Log in via our institutional portal using your normal institutional login details
