We are pleased to announce that the Provost’s Office will continue to make Provostial Funds available for initiatives in the Arts and Humanities. Please find attached the updated guidelines.

This fund is intended to support creative, innovative initiatives in the arts and humanities, for projects led by members of the faculty within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and/or other schools. The Provostial Fund also welcomes applications to support faculty research, particularly for projects smaller than those now considered under the Dean’s Competitive Fund for Promising Scholarship.

Applications for the following spring semester (and beyond) are due Friday, October 30, 2020.  Applications for the following fall semester (and beyond) are due Friday, February 26, 2021. 

Please note the following points:

• If you received funding for events that were postponed last spring and summer because of COVID-19, there is no need to reapply.
• When preparing proposals for activities taking place next spring, please keep in mind University policies related to in-person gatherings.
• Please note the University’s current travel guidance which states: All University-related travel, both international and domestic, is prohibited until further notice and should not be planned or scheduled at this time. https://www.harvard.edu/coronavirus/travel-guidance
• In keeping with University policy, please avoid budgets with discretionary spending.
